Issue Tracker

Introduction

WhiteSource Issue tacker enables you to create an 'Issue' in a ticketing system according to a policy you defined. Currently WhiteSoure supports an integration with JIRA and Work Items.

JIRA Integration

In order to create an issue in JIRA you should perform the following steps:

  1. Enter your JIRA credentials.
  2. Create a policy with an 'Issue' action.
  3. Review the issue that was created.

Those steps are described in detail in this document.

Add your JIRA credentials

  1. Go to 'Admin'


    Click on 'Issue Tracker Settings' under 'Integration' section


  2. Enter your JIRA credentials:
  3. Save.

Review the issue that was created

  1. Go to your JIRA account. A new issue will be created.

Work Items Integration

In order to create Work Item you should perform the following steps:

  1. Create 'Alternate authentication credentials' in your visual studio account.
  2. Enter your credentials from step 1.
  3. Create a policy with an 'Issue' action.
  4. Review the issue that was created.

Those steps are described in detail in this document.

Add your Work Items  credentials

  1. Go to security page in your account (For example https://your-visual-studion-url.visualstudio.com/_details/security/tokens)
  2. Select 'Alternate authentication credentials' and create a password.
  3. Go to 'Admin' in WhiteSource app


    Click on 'Issue Tracker Settings' under 'Integration' section


  4. Enter your Work Items credentials: (Enter the password that was created in step 1)
  5. Save.

Review the issue that was created

  1. Go to your account. A new issue will be created.

Create a policy with an 'Issue' action

  1. Go to 'Policies' tab
  2. Click on 'Add Policy'
  3. Fill the 'Name' field and choose a 'Match'
  4. Choose 'Issue' as an 'Action'.
  5. Fill the required fields :
  6. Click on 'Save'.
